The CAPE JAZZ BAND ARE AN ALL-STAR GROUP, which draws its members from the cream of Cape Town’s jazz scene to perform a repertoire popular in South Africa. Though they use the word jazz, in fact the sound lies somewhere between world music and jazz. Either way this group is one that carries the torch of this cultural jewel of the Cape of Good Hope!

The line up of the group varies according to availability but always includes top names.  Veteran drummer, Jack Momple is the project leader with names like Steven Erasmus, Alex van Heerden and Hilton Schilder and newcomers, Jonathan Rubain and Kyle Shephard on recent bills.
 
The beauty of this concept is that the repertoire is the star.
